Our Team
We make the best for all our children
Hi, I’m Carla the founder of Stronger Connections Keyworkers. I started my career in early intervention in 2015 as an Early Childhood Teacher teaching children with autism spectrum disorder at an autism specific early intervention centre in Brisbane. During my time at the centre I under took post grad studies in autism and training in Applied Behaviour Analysis that culminated in my transfer into a Behaviour Therapist role. In early 2019 I accepted a position as an ECEI Coordinator at UnitingCare, the Early Childhood Early Intervention partner to the NDIS in the Gold Coast region. Whilst at UnitingCare, I was fortunate to lead the team for a period of time as the Service Area Manager. Within my roles at UnitingCare I have developed a thorough understanding and extensive knowledge of NDIS legislation, operational guidelines and principles of the early childhood approach.
Stronger Connections Keyworkers is the culmination of both my professional experience and my passion for working with children with disability and/or developmental delay and their families. I believe deeply in the importance of early intervention and have seen the significant positive impact it can have on their lives.

Julie
Julie brings a deeply personal and professional understanding to her work, shaped by both lived experience and extensive practice in the disability and early intervention sector. As a parent of a child with disability, Julie has first-hand insight into the complexities, challenges, and strengths of families navigating disability supports, education, and community inclusion.
With over 19 years of experience, Julie understands how families, mainstream services, community supports, and the NDIS can work together to support a child’s goals, development, and wellbeing through a truly family-centred approach.
Julie is a qualified Level 2 Counsellor with experience in special education support and inclusion, the Key Worker model, and the SOS Feeding approach. She has previously worked as a Delegate at the NDIA and most recently as a Community Development Coordinator within the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach.
Julie has a strong understanding of child development and developmental milestones, disability, and supporting vulnerable families. Through walking alongside families experiencing multiple and complex needs—both professionally and personally—Julie is passionate about providing individualised, strengths-based support that places families at the centre of decision-making.
I have always been passionate about disability, early intervention and communities so I studied and became a social worker in France in 2015. Â
After travelling a few years around the southern hemisphere, I landed here, in Australia, where I fell in love with the country and the community.Â
I started working with autistic children in 2021 delivering home support, helping families implementing behaviour strategies.Â
In order to understand the children better I worked in an early intervention center delivering one on one therapy, following the child program.Â
I found therapy fascinating from the beginning by learning how to teach new skills and manage behaviour. Despite behavioural challenges, I find the results rewarding.Â
I have completed the requirements to become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician in 2023.Â
I built strong relationships with the children I work with as I believed in their potential and found their differences lovable.Â
What I enjoyed the most is that moment where a child finds his voice.Â

Tarah
Hi, I’m Tarah.
I’m a Support Coordinator and Therapy Assistant with over six years’ experience across early childhood, education, community, and disability services. For four years, I worked as an NDIS Early Childhood Coordinator with Northcott and Bushkids, supporting children and families to navigate the NDIS, access early intervention, and build strong, sustainable support networks during the early years.
I have a degree  in psychology and am currently studying counselling. I bring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a culturally respectful, person-centred approach to my work. I enjoy working closely with families and professionals to build capacity and create support systems that feel connected, practical, and tailored to each family’s real life.
I am passionate about supporting children’s development in natural, meaningful environments and value collaboration that empowers families and strengthens outcomes over time.
